Early in the morning on july 3, 1985, a passerby noticed a man lying in a landscaped area next to the portland fire bureau on sw ash and front avenue. Police responded to find the victim, ye nashwood billy, a 59- year-old native american man, deceased. An autopsy revealed that mr. Billy had died as the result of blunt force trauma. Ye nashwood billy was a known transient in the southwest and northwest portland area who was a known chronic alcohol user and possible drug user. Mr. Billy had no known enemies.
