On july 6, 1999, 44 year old cynthia stewart was walking her dog in the evening near observatory park, which is located at the intersection of east iliff avenue and south milwaukee street, when she was confronted by an unknown assailant. Cynthia fought to defend herself but was stabbed during the attack. Prior to her death, cynthia sought help from nearby neighbors.
