At approximately 12:50 am on january 25, 1996, multiple witnesses heard and saw alvaro ramirez-avila, a 24 year-old hispanic male, being shot and killed in the street by an unidentified man on sw alder between 4th and 5th avenue. Mr. Ramirez-avila was a known drug dealer. Investigators determined that he was shot as the result of a drug deal gone bad. The unidentified male has been described as a white or hispanic male with curly brown hair and wearing a tan jacket. He was seen fleeing the scene heading north on sw 4th avenue.
