On january 9, 2009, an altercation took place on the west side of salt lake city between west side poplar grove gang members cesar ramirez aka “shadow” and julio ramirez and brown society gang members matthew day aka “jokez” and two others. The brown society gang members followed the west side poplar grove gang members onto interstate 15 during rush hour, pulled up alongside them, and opened fire. Cesar ramirez was killed. Matthew day was the driver of the car occupied by brown society gang members, and he is currently serving a prison sentence of up to 20 years for manslaughter. Information is being sought about the other two brown society gang members.Agency
