On may 18, 1992, baltimore county police responded to reports of a shooting at the ramada inn located in the 8700 block of loch raven boulevard, 21286. When police arrived, they found 42-year-old john howard bowling, a security guard for the motel, shot several times. An eyewitness to the crime told police that the victim was shot when he went to the front door to let someone in. When john bowling opened the door, the suspect fired shots at him, possibly in an attempted robbery
