On september 16, 1981, a citizen walking near the intersection of nw 6th avenue and couch street observed derrick shepherd, a 22 year-old african-american man, lying near the driver’s door of his vehicle. The citizen then went to a nearby business to call police. Mr. Shepherd was transported to a nearby hospital for his stab wounds where he died shortly after. Mr. Shepherd was reported to be a petty criminal who made his living selling imitation narcotics. An unidentified african-american male was seen having an argument with him prior to him being stabbed, and has been described as being 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing approximately 140 pounds.Agency
