At around 9:30 pm, north precinct officers were dispatched to the 3400 block of 31st avenue north on report of a person shot. Officers arrived on the scene when they observed the victim lying in the roadway suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Birmingham fire and rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased. The preliminary investigation suggests the victim was hanging out with a group of friends when an unknown suspect(s) began firing upon the group; the gunfire struck the victim.Agency
