At about 1:45 am officers were called to 958 north st for the report of a motor vehicle that crashed into a house. When officers arrived they located a car in the basement of the vacant house. Rfd extricated the driver, 36-year old richard godbold. He was the sole occupant in the vehicle. When he was extricated from the vehicle. It was discovered he suffered from multiple gunshots wounds. He was transported to urmc where he was pronounced dead a short time after arrival. At around the same time as officers were responding to the motor vehicle accident, an officer heard gunshots come from the area of central ave. At the intersection of ormond st. And central ave officers located a crime scene that spanned about a block and a half down both central ave and ormond st., but there was nobody around. The investigation revealed that godbold and another man were shot as an unsanctioned party in a nearby warehouse was breaking up.Agency
