On march 24, 1998 a family member of stacey's contacted the columbus police department as they had not been able to contact stacey for a couple of day's and she had not reported to work. Her apartment was found to be unlocked with no evidence of a burglary or theft. Neighbors reported to the police that on the evening of march 22, 1998 they were awakened by a female scream and loud banging. On november 27, 2004 a hunter looking for a lost dog in a wood line near the scioto river on state route 257 north in delaware county, ohio discovered human remains, the remains were identified as stacey colbert.Agency
