On the evening of april 21, 1983, members of both the denver police and fire departments responded to a structure fire on the 3800 block of gilpin street. Upon arrival, several residents of this apartment building were treated at the scene for injuries related to the fire. 8 year old daniel perry was immediately transported from the scene after being found inside one of the apartments. Daniel died shortly after arriving at a local hospital. His cause of death was classified as cardiac arrest resulting from smoke inhalation. Anyone with information regarding this case, is asked to please contact the denver police department.
