On the afternoon of july 9, 1981, members of the denver police department responded to the home of 25 year old valerie murphy on a welfare check. Upon entry into her north park hill home both valerie murphy and her roommate, clarence harris, were found deceased. It was later determined both victims died of gunshot wounds.
