On may 21, 1991, 45 year old karen johns was discovered in monument valley park with a gunshot wound. Ms. Johns was apparently in her vehicle at the time of the shooting. Ms. Johns' vehicle had run off the roadway and came to rest inside the park. Several patrons in the park actually heard what sounded like a gunshot and saw the vehicle off the roadway rolling to a stop.
