On august 27, 2008, members of the denver police department responded to west alameda avenue and south federal boulevard on a report of a vehicle crashing into the walgreen's in the 300 block of south federal boulevard. Upon arrival, the officers located mr. Ornelas, seated in his vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. The investigation found the victim was involved in an altercation with unknown suspect(s) near the taco bell in this area. During the altercation the unknown suspect(s) shot mr.
