Ctives request assistance from the public in obtaining information on a homicide that occurred on friday, september 2, 2022, that claimed the life of demarkus moss sr.Just before 6 p.M., north and west precinct officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of arkadelphia road on report of a traffic accident.Officers arrived on the scene and then observed a white infiniti g35 that collided with a grey chevrolet silverado. Demarkus moss sr. Was the driver of the infiniti g35. Upon further investigation, officers observed demarkus suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.Officers observed two small children injured from the traffic accident. Demarkus’ two-year-old daughter was unresponsive. Demarkus’ infant son was also injured. The occupants of the chevrolet silverado were injured.Birmingham fire and rescue (bfr) personnel arrived on the scene and then pronounced demarkus moss sr. Deceased. Bfr transported demarkus’ children to children’s hospital with critical injuries. The injured occupants of the silverado were transported to local area hospitals. Children’s hospital staff determined neither of the children were wounded by gunfire.Demarkus’ children survived from their injuries. The silverado occupants survived their injuries.The preliminary investigation suggests the victim was traveling, in his white infiniti g35, in the 800 block of arkadelphia road when a suspect in a separate vehicle began firing shots into his vehicle. Demarkus moss sr. Was targeted in this incident.
