At approximately 6:40 pm, east precinct officers were dispatched to the 7700 block of sunrise lane on report of a person shot. Officers arrived on the scene and observed the victim lying unresponsive in the parking lot suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Birmingham fire and rescue personnel arrived on the scene and transported the victim to children’s hospital with life-threatening injuries. On thursday, october 20, 2022, the victim succumbed to his injuries.
