N april 16, 1985, 28-year-old margaret wilson, a white woman, was found dead in her apartment at 9018 ne oregon street. Ms wilson was out going, friendly, and had a religious background. She had no record of arrests and no apparent involvement in drugs. Ms wilson was in the process of leaving portland and moving to seattle to get married. Ms wilson’s body was discovered when her friends became alarmed that she had not returned their calls for a couple of days and contacted the police. A uniform officer responded and using a key supplied to him by the friends unlocked the front door of the apartment and entered. The officer discovered ms wilson’s body and noted that she was bound in a manner to ensure her death. The crime scene suggests that robbery was not a motive. There was no forced entry.
