In july 1975, the victim, samuel johnson, was found on the side of the county street off-ramp to interstate 64 in hampton, virginia with multiple gunshot wounds. On the day after the shooting, the hampton police department recovered mr. Johnson's vehicle in a church parking lot and a rifle located nearby.
