On october 12, 2003, at approximately 8:45 p.M., cameron brandice ware was gunned down in front of his house in the 5800 block of ne 18th ave. Cameron was 22 years old. Cameron’s mother, who was inside her residence when she heard numerous gunshots, ran to the porch and saw cameron lying on the ground near his vehicle. She also observed a dark complected male, in his early 20’s, approx 5’3” with a medium build wearing a tan hooded sweatshirt with some sort of blue, square shapes on it standing near her son. This person noticed her presence and immediately ran off, southbound on ne 18th avenue, towards jarrett. Emergency medical personnel responded and cameron was transported to emanuel hospital where he died. An autopsy revealed that he died of more than one gunshot wound. Nearby neighbors on ne 17th av, who heard the gunshots and came outside their house, said that they saw a medium-sized black 2=door vehicle, possibly a toyota, racing away from the area northbound on ne 17th . The vehicle did not stop at the stop sign on ne ainsworth and continued northbound on ne 17th.
