On june 18, 2010, at 10:14 pm, 41-year-old shawn decoal crawford was at the corner of n. Albina and jessup, having just left a residence in the 5700 block of n. Albina. Numerous shots rang out and shawn fell to the ground. A portland police officer was in the area, heard the shots and immediately responded to their location. There, he found shawn on the ground and it appeared to him that shawn was deceased. This officer did not see any obvious suspects upon his arrival. Responding detectives interviewed people in the area, and determined that two male subjects were seen hurriedly leaving the area just after people heard the gun shots.
