On june 28, 2021 at approximately 12:50 am, officers responded to the parking lot of walmart, 1490 hudson ave, for the report of multiple shots fired. During the investigation it was found that 4 people had been shot and transported to area hospitals. Among the victims was 18-year-old angel gonzalez-pagan who died that day, and 44-year-old manuelito rivera, who succumbed from his injuries several weeks later. Hundreds of people were gathered in the parking lot at the time of the shooting for the unsanctioned “fast & furious” event.Agency
