Officers from the west precinct responded to a call of a person shot at 1600 pearson avenue southwest. Upon arrival officers discovered a person inside the store suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Birmingham fire and rescue responded to the scene and transported the victim to uab hospital for treatment. Investigators later learned that the victim had succumbed to his injury during a surgical procedure and was pronounced deceased by hospital staff. Responding officers found that the victim was shot at another location and ran to the store for help before collapsing. There are no suspects in custodyAgency
