At around 12:40 a.M., west precinct officers were dispatched to a person shot call at the third avenue package store at 1501 3rd avenue west.Officers arrived on the scene when they entered the store and then observed the victim lying unresponsive on the floor suffering from a gunshot wound.Birmingham fire and rescue personnel arrived and transported the victim to uab hospital. Uab hospital staff later pronounced the victim deceased.The preliminary investigation suggests the victim was involved in a physical altercation with another male outside the store. During the altercation, the male shot the victim. The victim then ran inside and collapsed.Agency
