On may 22, 1992, at 8:20 p.M., fou saechao was stocking shelves in a market 5020 n interstate ave at approx 8:215 pm when he was confronted by a black male. Words were spoken, the suspect shot mr saechao and fled the market. Mr saechao died of multiple gun shot wounds. On may 25, 1992, at approximately 1:30 am, passersby saw anthony lesina lying on the ground near a phone booth at 1925 n interstate ave. They saw a black male leave in a maroon car, which was later discovered to be mr lesina’s. They checked on mr lesina, saw that he had been shot and called the police. Mr lesina died of a single gunshot wound. On may 25, 1992, at approximately 8:45 pm, kevin waldner was doing dishes in his residence at 4805 n borthwick when he noticed an african-american male in his dining room. This person had not been invited into the house. Mr waldner stepped into the dining room and asked the man if he could help him. The man said no. The suspect then turned toward the front door and mr waldner stepped closer. At this time, mr waldner saw that the suspect was carrying a weapon that resembled a sawed off rifle . Mr waldner said that the suspect pointed the weapon at him, he grabbed the barrel of the gun and they wrestled over the gun. Mr waldner let go of the gun and the suspect stepped back and shot mr waldner in the stomach. The suspect then fled. Mr. Waldner survived the shooting. The suspect in each case is described as an african-american male, 5’6” to 5’9”, 140 to 160 lbs, late teens to early 20’s, wearing a long black athletic jacket and a black baseball cap with white letters. Based upon evidence recovered at each crime scene, detectives believe that the same suspect is responsible for this mini-crime spree.
