On july 8, 1976, the denver police and fire departments responded to the connection bar on the intersection of alameda avenue and south zuni street, to a structure fire. 22 year old lillian hurtado was one of two bodies found that died due to smoke inhalation. Ms. Hurtado was a waitress at the bar. This case is being investigated as an arson related homicide due to its suspicious nature.
