On july 2, 2002, 25 year old armond johnson was in the process of walking towards his car during closing time of several downtown nightclubs. The streets were filled with hundreds of patrons that had also exited the clubs. It was at this point that armond became involved in an argument with several other parties. During this time several unknown parties brandished handguns and started firing shots. Armond was struck by gunfire which caused his fatal injury.
