Johanna, age 17, was a recent olympus high school graduate. She was last seen in the area of 2100 south and state street at an area referred to as “the complex” by witnesses in the late hours of august 20, 1971. Acquaintances saw her in a car in the area around the same time with two males and an unknown number of individuals. Her car, a chrysler, was found on westminster ave. Between state street and 200 e. In the early morning hours following her disappearance. Her nude body was discovered by fishermen on august 21, 1971. It was located in a canal approximately half a mile west of the west stock bridge on the goggin’s drain, by saltaire. She had been assaulted and died as a result of gunshot and stab wounds.
