On december 25, 1968, at approximately 12:39 am, officers from the colorado springs police department observed an individual, who was later identified as jack kroecker, lying on the sidewalk in the 100 block of cucharras street. Upon checking on mr. Kroecker, officers found that he was unconscious from an apparent gunshot wound. Mr. Kroecker was serving in the united states army and was stationed at fort carson at the time of his death.
