On september 22, 2001, members of the champaign county sheriff`s office and fire personnel responded to a house fire at 302 paul avenue, champaign, at approximately 0549 hours. Upon arrival, champaign county sheriff`s deputies discovered linda smith deceased. An autopsy was conducted, evidence of a sexual assault was discovered and concluded that linda smith was murdered. The suspect`s dna has been linked to two (2) sexual assaults.
