Description: A man is dead after an officer-involved shooting early Saturday morning in Tama County following a welfare check. Authorities say dispatch received a call around 1:01 a.m. on July 5 reporting a man who was allegedly suicidal. A second caller reported the man was armed and also requested a welfare check. According to the department, the man with a firearm was located near the 800 block of W 13th Street at approximately 1:38 a.m. where he was shot by an officer.
