On saturday, march 21, 2009, at approximately 9:22 pm, members of the sixth district received a radio assignment for the shooting at 330 anacostia avenue se. Once on the scene, officers located melvin norris suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Medical personnel responded to the scene and transported melvin norris to the prince georges county hospital where he was admitted in critical condition. On sunday, march 22, 2009, melvin norris succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The metropolitan police department seeks the public’s assistance in gathering information regarding this incident.Agency
