Detectives request assistance from the public in obtaining information on a mother’s day homicide that occurred on sunday, may 14, 2017, that claimed the life of tyler griffin.At around 9:30 a.M., west precinct officers were dispatched to the 3400 block of boise avenue on report of a person shot.Officers arrived on the scene and then observed the victim lying unresponsive on the ground; he was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.Birmingham fire and rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceasedthe preliminary investigation has revealed the victim was at a residence attending a small gathering when a suspect began arguing with him; the suspect shot tyler in the back while tyler was running away.Agency
