On friday, june 11, 1982 at approximately 5:00 a.M. The bancroft fire department and the lakewood police department responded to the willow's apartment complex, located at 10555 west jewell avenue on a report of a fire. Upon arrival to the scene officer's and firefighters located the lifeless body of a young female who was later identified as june friedman. An autopsy revealed friedman had been beaten to death prior to the fire being deliberately set. On june 10, 1982 june friedman met with an ex-boyfriend who she had previously had no contact for approximately a year due to his abusive behavior. The ex-boyfriend stated he left friedman's apartment at 10:00 p.M., which was the last time friedman was seen alive. Anyone with information regarding this case, is asked to please contact the lakewood police department.
