At approximately 8:10 am on the morning of june 5, 1976, police were summoned to an alley behind a residence on the 4300 block of n. Montana avenue. Officers found abram benavidez, a 54-year-old native american male, deceased in the alley. Investigators determined that mr. Benavidez had died as the result of a gunshot wound. Abram benavidez worked on a texaco oil rig that was dry docked on swan island for the 4 years prior to his death. Mr. Benavidez was last seen at the jubitz truck stop prior to 3 am that morning. Witnesses reported hearing subjects arguing in the alley just off of n. Montana avenue at approximately 3:30 am.
