Detectives request assistance from the public in obtaining information on a homicide that occurred on saturday, november 18, 2023, in the 2600 block of avenue c that claimed the life of lakevin debruce.At approximately 4:01 p.M., west precinct officers responded to a call of a person shot at the intersection of 26th street ensley and avenue c.Officers arrived on the scene and observed an adult male lying in the roadway near a vehicle, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.Birmingham fire and rescue services arrived on the scene and transported the victim to uab hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at approximately 5:05 p.M.The preliminary investigation suggests someone in the area heard gunfire and then observed the victim fall out of a vehicle into the roadway and called 911 emergency service
