The victims: annabelle and thomas leonard, ages 84 and 48. The crime: on march 16, 2003 at 1:22 a.M. Members of the colorado springs fire department were dispatched to 3834 constitution avenue on a report of smoke emanating from that residence. Upon arrival they discovered the body of a deceased female, annabelle leonard (age 84) in the basement, and a deceased male, thomas leonard (age 48), the son of annabelle, on the main level of the townhome. The investigation: investigation revealed that they both died as a result of stab wounds. It appeared the fire was started to cover up the homicides. The townhouse appeared to have been ransacked, drawers pulled out and contents dumped on the floor.
