Info

On 12/23/82 at approximately 11:45 p.M., a witness observed two vehicles stopped at the traffic light at the intersection of south circle drive and fountain boulevard. It appeared to the witness that the victim, david mclaughlin, was engaged in a verbal confrontation with the driver of the other vehicle, a 1970's model vw bug. Within a few minutes and a short distance from that apparent confrontation, david mclaughlin crashed his vehicle into a fence. He was alone in the vehicle and was bleeding profusely. He was pronounced dead at 12:17 a.M., a victim of a fatal stab wound. Sgt. David mclaughlin was stationed at ft carson. His company officers and fellow ncos described him as a good soldier that was well liked. He spent most of the day and early evening with another soldier who was his best friend. This friend had loaned david his car to drive home so that he would not have to hitch hike home in the bad weather. He left alone and was reportedly on his way home. Anyone with information regarding this case, would be of assistance in this investigation, please contact the colorado springs police department.
