04 n riverside drive. This is an approximate address. The victim was found in riverside park (800 north and the jordan river in salt lake city). The victim was in a wooded space between the jordan river and the jordan river parkway bike trail. The scene was just north of the pedestrian bridge over the river. He was next to the river on the embankment. His location was concealed by trees along the riverbank.The victim was anthony p. Herrera. He was a 36 year old homeless hispanic man. He had lived in salt lake city for three months. He was reported to be selling heroin at the rio grande homeless shelter. He was also reported to be shorting people on their drugs and robbing people on the street.Two women walking in the park discovered his body. Police responded and canvassed the area. A neighbor witness reported hearing a gun shot at 14:45. The victim was reported to be stealing from people he stayed with and did drug sales with .
