On saturday, june 21, 2014 at approximately 2:23 am, police officers responded to a call for a shooting near the intersection of fuller street and mozart place, nw. Upon arrival, they located mr. Luis avilamelendez in the 1600 block of columbia road, nw suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Dc fire and emergency medical services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
