On the evening of march 27, 1981, 23 year old gail martinez had just returned to her residence from her place of employment and was greeted by her mother. While gail was seated at the dining room table within her west denver home, a shot passed through a nearby window and struck gail in the torso. She was immediately transported to a local hospital but died a few hours later. At the time of gail martinez's murder, she was engaged and had made plans for a wedding in november of 1981.
