At approximately 3:30 p.M. On december 3, 1977, birchard sprick was found deceased in the front bedroom of 7108 n ivanhoe street when a neighbor came to his house to ask for a ride to work. Birchard, a 52-year-old white man, was divorced and had been living alone at the time of his death. An autopsy revealed that mr. Sprick had died due to multiple stab wounds. Birchard sprick was described as an alcoholic, but had not been drinking during the six months prior to his death. It was reported that two males had been living with him at different times during the year before his death. The front door to the house had been unlocked and there was no apparent evidence of the residence being ransacked. Birchard sprick was last seen alive on the evening of the 2nd.
