On july 9, 1990, a passerby on n. Williams avenu,e just north of n. Failing street, noticed a man lying in the sidewalk next to a shopping cart shortly before 7 am. Police were called and found the victim, carl gibb, a 44-year-old white man, was deceased. An autopsy revealed that mr. Gibb had been stabbed to death. Investigators determined that mr. Gibb had died at approximately 1:00 am earlier that morning. Carl gibb was reported to have been mentally disabled and was known to scavenge for cans and other items with a shopping cart. Mr. Gibb was divorced and had two young children. A puppy and a kitten were found with mr. Gibb at the scene. A witness reported seeing two african-american men speaking with mr. Gibb shortly before 1 am in the area where he was found. One has been described as being 25 to 30 years old, approximately 6 feet tall and 200 pounds wearing a black baseball cap, blue jeans and a black jacket. The other has been described as being approximately 6 feet tall 25 to 30 years old wearing dark jeans and a dark-colored jacket.Agency
