On july 20, 1993, at approximately 10:30 p.M., three people in old town heard a shot. One of these people told police that she observed two african-american males and a white female approach a person she knew who’s street name was el pelon at nw 6th and burnside. One of the males engaged “el pelon” in conversation. The shot rang out and she saw the male holding onto the victim and appeared to go through his clothing. All three subjects then ran off. The other witnesses gave similar stories to the police. The suspects were described as: #1 african-american male, early 20’s, 6’ 189 lbs with jeri curls dressed in black coat, black pants, plaid shirt and low-top black tennis shoes #2 african-american male, early 20’s, 5’10” with jeri curls dressed similarly to suspect #1 #3 white female, 19 yrs, 5’6”, slender build, shoulder length dishwater blond hair with dark roots, jean jacket. El pelon was later identified by police as lorenzo satayal. Satayal was an immigrant from guatemala. He had been in and out of the us and had been previously arrested for possession of heroin.Agency
