Cold case spotlight on may 22, 2013, 35-year-old misty lowder disappeared without a trace from pilot point, texas. She was last seen around 11:00pm as she reportedly left a house she was hired to clean and has not been heard from since. Misty’s cellphone showed no activity after 8:30pm the night she disappeared despite the fact that she averaged 5,800 text messages per month and carried an extra phone charger in her purse. The truck misty was driving was found on may 25, 2013 in the 1100 block of ft. Worth drive in denton, texas. Due to misty’s known drug use and lifestyle foul play is suspected in her disappearance. There are no shortage of theories or rumors regarding misty’s case, unfortunately though, most of them end with misty being the victim of murder. While misty had many, well documented, struggles in her life, she was loved and is still missed. Her children, her mother, her brother and others have been devastated by her disappearance and facing the scenario that she most likely isn’t coming home. Misty’s mom has fought for almost 4 years to find her daughter and desperately wants answers and justice. Having a missing loved one is struggle that isn’t easy to understand unless you have experienced it firsthand. Misty’s mom has channeled her pain and grief and found comfort in her faith and horses. She is now working on an idea to use equine-facilitated therapy to help others heal from mental and emotional issues with a focus on grief.
