At about 1:00 on the morning of may 23rd, 2003, kansas city police were called to the area of the 6000 block of blue hills on the sound of shots. They were unable to locate anything at that time. Just after 6:00 that morning they were called back on a report of a body found in an apartment at that location. 26 year-old willis j. Johnson had been shot several times with a shotgun and apparently had been dead for several hours. On august 24th, 2002, 71 year-old shirley mckeown set out from her home to help her daughter at her house in midtown kansas city. She was never heard from again. On september 3rd, 2002, her car was found concealed behind a vacant house at 33rd and highland. Due to the amount of her blood and other evidence found in the car, the case was ruled a homicide investigation. Her body still has not been found and no arrests have been made. Any tip leading to an arrest in this case is eligible for a cash reward of up to $10,000. Witnesses said they had seen the victim on the previous evening arguing with an unknown black woman in the parking lot. A reward of up to $1,000 is available for any tip that leads to an arrest in this case.
