At approximately 2:40 pm, south precinct officers were dispatched to the 4500 block of 6th avenue south on report of a person down inside of a residence.Officers arrived on the scene and entered a residence when they observed an adult male victim lying unresponsive.Birmingham fire and rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.This case was originally investigated as an unclassified death. The jefferson county medical examiner’s office conducted an autopsy on the victim; their preliminary investigation has led to this case being reclassified as a homicide
