On may 28, 1986, at approximately 2:30 p.M., a motorist driving northbound in the 600 block of nw 14th saw a person lying on the sidewalk on the east side of the street. Noticing blood near the body, the motorist went to a nearby business and asked them to call 911. Emergency personnel responded and found that the person was deceased. Police were notified and upon their response they notified homicide detectives. Homicide detectives arrived and an investigation began. When an autopsy was performed, the cause of death was a gunshot wound. The victim was identified as 34-year-old daniel l. Mcdaniel, a white male, who was 5’6”, 130 lbs. Mr mcdaniel left behind a wife and three children. Subsequent investigation revealed the name of federico vicente cordova, who was 32 years old in 1986, and went by the name of “chico.” mr. Cordova is now deceased. Detectives determined that “chico’s” girlfriend at the time, a subject known only as “lee ann,” may have information that could be useful in the investigation into the death of daniel mcdaniel. Lee ann was described as a white female, 30 to 35 years old in 1986, 5’5”, 150 lbs, with blonde hair descending to her mid-back. Cold case detectives would like to contact and speak with lee ann, or with anyone who may be able to identify lee ann, or who may have known her at the time of mr. Mcdaniel’s death. They would also like to speak to anyone who may have known “chico” at the time of mr. Mcdaniel’s death.Agency
