Description: Other. On 06/15/24 at 9:47AM, officers from the Falcon Division were dispatched to the 5300 block of N. Academy Blvd. to check the welfare of two people unconscious in a vehicle. When officers arrived they found two people in a vehicle as described by the community member. Officers observed drug paraphernalia in plain view within the vehicle. As officers were attempting to set up a non-contact block , to prevent the potentially impaired driver from leaving, the occupants of the vehicle roused. The people in the vehicle did not comply with commands, the driver of the vehicle rammed a marked police vehicle then fled the scene. Officers had deployed a Piranha tire deflation device prior to the vehicle fleeing. This device deflated one of the vehicle's tires. The vehicle eluded officers into a residential area to the west of Montebello Dr./Academy Blvd. The vehicle was driving recklessly. Officers did not pursue but the driver was quickly identified and will be arrested at a later time.No citizens or officers were injured in the eluding.
