When officers arrived on the scene, they observed the victim lying on the ground unresponsive, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.Birmingham fire and rescue services arrived on the scene and transported the victim to uab hospital with life-threatening injuries.While on the scene officers were notified that a second adult male arrived at the hospital by private vehicle, suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.The preliminary investigation suggests a verbal altercation occurred between the two individuals outside in the parking lot of a business that led to the exchange of gunfire.Investigators will prepare case information and present it to the district attorney’s office for review.Agency
