Early saturday morning on december 20, 1997, michael avila was attacked in the parking lot of the 7-11 convenience store located near the intersection of west colfax avenue and perry street. Witnesses called the police and michael avila was immediately transported to a local hospital. Unfortunately, michael did not survive his injuries and died that same day. The suspect(s) responsible for beating michael avila to death have yet to be identified. At the time of his murder, michael was just nineteen years old. He enjoyed playing the trumpet and worked at an auto-body shop with his father. Anyone with information regarding this case, is asked to please contact the denver police department.Agency
