Police arrested a 14-year-old Wednesday after they say he burglarized a car and a home in Lakeland and stabbed a man 30 times, leaving him in critical condition. Noel Cruz-Diego of Lakeland is charged with attempted felony murder, home invasion robbery, two counts of burglary, battery on a law enforcement officer, assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting with violence on a law enforcement officer. His stabbing victim, police say, is 55-year-old Daniel Granton. Friends say Granton has debilitating hip problems and had recently moved into his first home at May Manor mobile home park after living on the streets for 25 years. [...] About an hour into the search, police received a call about a second burglary at Granton's home at 353 Dawn St. That call came from Marion Delong, who lives behind Granton on Lisa Street.
